A choreographic, vocal, and musical creation for a “universal” dramaturgy
“The world remains hidden until the moment I touch it.” (John Hull)
How can we share a dance with those who cannot see it?
What can words do to express movement?
Can the voice illuminate space?
On dirait que le soleil is a choreographic, vocal, and musical creation for three performers, including a blind dancer, placing sensory experience at the heart of the audience’s experience.
The performance invites us to question how we perceive the world, taking the bold approach of addressing audiences with diverse sensory experiences — whether sighted, partially sighted, blind, hearing, hard of hearing or Deaf.
Starting from the diversity of perceptual experiences rather than the notion of “disability”, this piece opens up new perceptual spaces for everyone.
By weaving together audio description, light, voice, touch and poetry, On dirait que le soleil seeks to expand the boundaries of choreography and explore the unsuspected possibilities of our bodies.
This creation is at the heart of cycle#2 PERCEVOIR, part of the FAIRE MONDE project.
